CLASSES / PRICES Drivetech gives you professional, personal attention, top-notch instruction and lots of driving time. Our students typically drive more than at other schools offering similar programs, equipment and tracks. Even if this is your first time in a racecar you can take any class except Hot Laps, which is reserved for our graduates. The vast majority of students are first-timers, so you'll fit right in. No special skills are required to take a class other than the ability to operate a manual transmission. Classes begin with a one-hour Drivers Meeting that covers instruction in driving techniques, safety procedures and everything else necessary to prepare you. The meeting begins with a narrated van ride around the track to show you the racing line and other track features and ends in the classroom. Then it's straight to your car! A crewmember buckles you in, checks your radio, and gives the thumbs up sign to your Instructor. You'll start your engine, hear that V8 roar, and pull onto the track! On track you'll benefit from our unique 10-minute warm up session, which is included in the total driving time for each class. Then the green flag flies and it's pedal to the metal. As your Instructor coaches you over the radio you'll drive at your own pace, passing slower cars when you catch them. Classes range from 20 to 120 minutes of driving and 8 to 180 laps. The amount of driving time is always guaranteed, but the number of laps varies by the type of track and its length, as well as the speed at which you choose to drive. We encourage you to take the longest class you can, because the more you drive the more you'll learn and the faster you'll go. Longer classes give you more driving for the money too! Early enrollment also gives you the best selection of starting times. START YOUR ENGINES formerly Taste of Speed This is the class for those who just want to say, I did it! You'll spend 20 minutes on the track, about twice as much as comparably-priced classes elsewhere. GREEN FLAG formerly Racing Adventure Drive for 30 minutes. During the session the clock is stopped for a mandatory pit stop, giving you a brief rest from the intensity of the track. In the pits the crew will bring water to you and quickly check your car. Before you know it, you're back on the track. Now you're really getting the feel of the car. Your speed is climbing and your lap times are dropping! CHECKERED FLAG formerly Super Racing Adventure Here you'll get a full 40 minutes of driving plus two pit stops. This is a lot of driving at one time - longer than many actual races. If you want to know what your favorite stock car driver does you won't get any closer than this. When it's over you'll be ready for a celebration and eager to come back for more. RACE DAY formerly Championship Adventure Available in a one day session, you'll get 60 minutes of seat time per day, divided into three driving sessions. You'll spend the time between sessions working with your instructor, talking to the crew and observing other drivers. It's a typical day at the track for a race car driver. The lesson plan varies according to the student population, the track and track conditions. Activities can include one-on-one pursuit with an instructor, side-by-side running and race starts. Most of all, there's plenty of high speed driving. Hot Laps-for Graduates Only! Our best value! Drivetech graduates can return and drive more laps under an instructor's supervision. It's almost a private lesson, but costs no more than a regular class! The experience you got in earlier classes really pays off here. Drive for 20 or 30 minutes with pit stops for rest. This is as real as it gets, you’ll experience racing through the corners separated by less than 2 feet. Here's how our pricing works. Please read carefully: - You'll have a guaranteed amount of driving time. With multiple cars on the track, we prefer the simplicity and accuracy of this method to keeping track of your laps. It also helps your class stay on schedule for the convenience of you and your guests. - We've listed the number of laps that a typical student will complete in the time allowed. Shorter tracks usually allow more laps to be driven in a given amount of time than longer tracks. The number of laps you drive will depend on your speed, the length of the track and the lesson plan. - Longer classes give you more driving time or more advanced training for the money - a volume discount!
